Triple Losses on Raid on Wuppertal June 25 1943

Sixteen Halifax aircraft of 419 Squadron were detailed to attack Wupperthal (Elberfeld). One aircraft returned early due to engine troubles. Three more were reported missing and later confirmed to have been lost. A number of the crew members were to become POWs while others were killed during the mission or in the crash landing of thier downed Halifax aircraft. And one Dutch village is in the path of fully loaded bomber with a pilot fighting to win control and avoid a disaster to Roermond.
