In a section on Training for Aircrews we used many photos from Barnes collection. Leaving off after he completed his
time in the HCU traing on the new heavy bombers. Barnes served for a short stint in 419, the RAF were looking for crews to fly
with their squadrons in Libya for missions aginst the Romananian oil fields. And maybe after the cool damp weather in Britain the
warmer climates were calling. The main force in the area was the American 389th Bombard Group and the RAF were adding a detachment.
After his stint with the 389th Barnes returned home and marriage.
