North Bay Ontario native Clifford S. Johnston was born September 12th 1922. Attending North Bay Collegiate and Vocational Institute .

Two years later, April 29th 1942, Johnston enlisted in the RCAF.

P/O Johnston and the F/O Donald Morrison crew tookoff at 23:08 for Sterkrade, on the night of June 16th. 1944. The International Red Cross notified the RCAF that P/O Johnston had been killed early of the morning of June 17th. Originally buried in the churchyard at the Chapel of the Evangelical Cemetery of Elden. At one point in time P/O Johnston was listed as being buried near Hamburg.


P/O Clifford Johnston was reinterned at Groesbeek Canadian Cemetery in 1948.
